Ryan McMahon, what to do with him?

At this time last year, Rockies first baseman Ryan McMahon was all the talk. He was supposed to be the future at first base for them. As Opening Day started to roll around, McMahon was being placed in Triple A. Lets fast forward a year. The Rockies have signed Daniel Murphy, thinking oh he will play second base for the departed D.J LeMehieu, think again! It sounds like that Murphy will be playing first base with Ian Desmond playing full time in the outfield. So why do the Rockies hate Ryan McMahon and why aren't they giving him a shot. In 2017 and 2018 when he spent time in both Double and Triple A, he was very good and future was promising. His play in the majors has been less than spectacular. It may be the fact he just needs time or it may be that the Rockies aren't the biggest on playing their young kids. Whatever it may be, either McMahon will be traded or he will be given time to catch up to the majors.

If they end up trading him, they need more starting pitching as well as a catcher. Could he be used in a trade for J.T Realmuto? The Marlins need a first baseman and the Rockies need a catcher, could this be a match? Possibly, but I don't think it will happen.
